Something that made me laugh

I saw this article on Yahoo and it gave me a chuckle. Especially the part in red. The story's original tag line on Yahoo actually mentioned that someone found the "super secret" script in the trash...really? Because I bet about 50 million teen girls (and 27 year olds...) can tell you exactly what's gonna happen in the movie. LOL.

Woman finds 'Twilight' sequel script in trash

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis beauty salon owner accidentally happened upon one of the hottest Hollywood scripts — the pages from an upcoming "Twilight" sequel — in a trash bin.

Casey Ray found two scripts, one for the vampire sequel "New Moon" and one for a different movie titled "Memoirs." She decided to return them to the studio making the films. In return, she was invited to attend the movies' premieres, her lawyer said.

Ray recently was waiting for her fiance to finish work when she spotted two scripts in a trash container. She was outside a hotel where actors were staying during a St. Louis shoot for the upcoming George Clooney movie, "Up in the Air."

It's not clear how the scripts wound up in the bin.

The Clooney movie includes actress Anna Kendrick, who is also in the "Twilight" vampire movie. A spokeswoman for Kendrick, Lisa Perkins, said the actress wouldn't have left scripts lying around.

When Ray found the scripts, she considered leaking them to a national tabloid but decided against it, said her lawyer, Al Watkins.

"My client didn't really want to get paid," he said, but she was interested in hanging onto the scripts as collector's items.

Watkins helped her return them to Los Angeles-based Summit Entertainment LLC, the studio making the movies. He said the studio invited Ray to premieres for the two films, and will certify the scripts as authentic after the movies are released.

"Summit doesn't comment on any of the deals it does," Summit spokesman Paul Pflug said. But he added, "We thank Ms. Ray for doing the right thing."

The "Twilight" movies are based on the novels of Stephenie Meyer, so many of the plot turns are well known to readers. But keeping the "New Moon" script written by Melissa Rosenberg out of the public eye preserves which elements of the book will be included in the films, Pflug noted.

Last year's original "Twilight" film grossed over $350 million worldwide.

I need a good book

I miss reading...I went on a little hiatus while trying to get through The Shadow of the Wind. I'd ideally like nothing heavy or depressing. Something on the lighter side but seriously good. I know Amy had suggested a novel a while ago - about time traveling in Scotland?! I can't remember the name. Any other suggestions anyone?! Thanks in advance!

For those that graduated high school with us...

I just found out today that our reunion will be Oct 10th at Dave & Buster's in Milpitas. Yeah. That's all I'm gonna say about that...

Napa Valley

Napa Valley is one of the most incredible places I've ever been to. Less than 2 hours away, and I've never been there before?! Everything is so serene. So calm. So quiet. So beautiful. There is something so amazing to me about vineyards. Let's pretend it's in my Italian blood.

What was better? Going for free! Seriously, hate me. My boss had a president's club trip, and he invited the management team to go. And I was invited! So thrilled. We stayed at Solage, a resort in Calistoga. A wonderfully cute, tiny town. At Solage, we each had little bungalow type house units. With two cruiser bikes. The place was beautiful. It had eco-friendly shrubbery, which was pretty cool. Completely offset by the fact that they clean your room twice a day. And when they clean it in the nighttime, they leave on all the lights for you and turn the TV on with soothing music. Which kind of negates the whole eco-friendly green thing, but still. Didn't matter. It was kinda cool.

I was kind of lame with pictures this weekend. I'm not sure why. For some reason, I just didn't take that many. If you want to see pictures of the resort, which I totally encourage you to do - click this link. These pictures really do it justice.

It wouldn't be me if I didn't get excited about the swimming pool. OMG. 40 meters, so pristine, perfect temperature, only one other person swimming laps. Heaven.

Let's see - highlights: good times with co-workers, the Elvis impersonator and his band at the Hydro Grill (complete with groupies that were hysterical), riding our cruisers into downtown Calistoga and then riding them to Sterling Vineyards. Sterling Vineyards was pretty awesome. There is an aerial gondola that takes you up to the vineyard. Pricey ($20 each gets you the pass to get up there and 4 wine tastings) - but worth the trip, if you drink. I think you can still appreciate the beauty and view if you don't drink wine, but it would be a bit much to pay.

We went to the Culinary Institute of America on Saturday night for a group dinner, which almost resembles part of Hogwarts. In my lameness, I didn't take a picture of the amazing outside, but found one on Flickr here. We got a tour of the school, since my boss is good friends with one of the expert chefs. They were actually having a wedding there (Ryan is sooo lucky we already got married!) and our sneak peek of the reception hall looked so breathtaking, it was borderline ridiculous.

I did get a massage Sunday, which was one of the best (and most expensive) massages EVER. They have these weighted heated pads that they put on your body while they massage you. It was so great. Unfortunately, by the afternoon, my arthritis came into full force in my left shoulder. I think the massage must have released some built up toxins that just wreaked havic. It's all I can think of. Thankfully, despite being up at 2 am crying last night, when I woke up at 7 am, it was better. So, amazing massage while it occurred; not so amazing for me afterward. For most people who aren't stuck with stupid traveling arthritis, it is amazing.

Hello, Calistoga!

This weekend is the Napa trip that my work is putting together for us. We're going to Solage in Calistoga. I'm sooooooo excited. Does anyone have any fun tips for things to do in Calistoga or Napa?!

Hubby Gave My Car an Owwie

My poor car. Last time we went to SLO, I accidentally backed into my sister's car. Good thing it was just her tail light, and good thing it was her beater car. Fast forward 4 weeks, and Ryan got in an accident this last Saturday night. He was sober but took out a gate. The gate (and its post) totally won. Steep decline + gravel + curve in road + darkness/no street lights = very bad. I now have to take my car back to a body shop...I'm still having nightmares from being rear-ended last year!

Most importantly - Good thing he turned out okay without a scratch!

I heart Sophie Tucker!

The below makes me want to cry. In a tears-of-joy sort of way. I found it on Yahoo! News. This dog is awesome AND ridiculously cute.

I feel stooopid

I clicked on this Yahoo story tonight: Cosmic Hand Reaches for the Light.

Can I just admit that it took me about 3 times to read it, and I still don't understand what it's saying? Crap, sometimes I feel so damn stupid. When it comes to science, I just can't cut it. Ask me to edit something for grammar or write a paper, and I'm all over it. But understand a science news article that was posted on Yahoo? Over my head.

I had a flashback to my very first quarter in college. I took Astronomy 101, because let's face it - the Planetarium is freaking awesome. I found that it was so not as simple as it was in 3rd grade. Our teacher, though, would give us study guides before every test. And he was pretty awesome, because he would then pull from the study guide to make the test. So, of course, I would memorize the study guide. One time Ryan was quizzing me. When I gave him the correct answer, he asked me "Hey, what is that anyways?" I told him, "I dunno. All I know is it's the right answer!" Thus was my entire Astronomy 101 class.

Then another flashback to the ACT's in high school. If I remember correctly, the scores are out of 36. I think I got like a 32 or a 33 in English...and like a 17 in Science and a 23 in Math. Does that tell you something? So bad.

When it comes to science, I think I'll stick to watching Fringe and Bones...
